Create opportunities to bring the entire team together early in the project or ask to be included in early team meetings where project goals are articulated.

On-board new team members or new employees with attention paid to sustainability goals and carbon targets.

Include New Talent and Spec Writers
Include spec writers and new team members in goal setting so that they are aligned with the goals while setting specs or considering products. Create simple resources to onboard new joiners.

Find a Carbon Champion
Designate a team member to remind everyone to assess at every stage—SD, DD, CA—and to include collaborators like GCs or consultants in those assessments. Integrate these checkpoints into the agenda for design meetings. It’s critical for the CM and/or GC to regularly assess these goals (with the design team) during construction.
