Live Near ICFF: Model Citizens
A brief detour to a small independent exhibition just around the corner from the Javits
Walking from the Javits toward the F train, someone handed me a flyer for the Model Citizens exhibition happening all weekend in a small basement gallery on 36th Street near 10th Avenue. So I dropped in. Here are a few of the highlights.
Mariel Taveras‘s pastel children’s ottomans are made of bouncy EVA foam.
Nathan Thomas Studios set up this eye-catching display at one end of the gallery.
Hepper is showing some cute pet furniture.
The Egg Bench, by Grace E. Chan
Hard to believe that no one’s thought to make a chain-link chair before. According to the promo materials, this one—Café America by James Minola and Chelsea Green of Grain— is “a surprisingly comfortable indoor/outdoor chair.” (I didn’t try it out.)
I liked these powder-coated steel pendants from iacoli & mcallister.
