The elegant demeanor of designer Hughes N’Cho-Allépot is as smooth and chic as his new Milos Sofa. “My sofa is made to marry the body,” he says. “It’s easy to put your arm up on the back, and it fits nicely under your knees. It has no arms, but it has built-in side tables.”
Constructed from African Padauk, an orange-red wood that ages to a dark brown color, the sofa is upholstered in high-grade, antique silk velvet with a subtle stripe pattern. “I use my body to fit furniture, because that’s what furniture should do,” N’Cho-Allépot says. “It should be beautiful and functional to fit the concept of life.”
