Sacred architecture is so difficult to design, no matter what faith. (“Temple of Light”). Looking at old cathedrals from the gothic age, I think that they are so successful because of their scale, mass, and AGE. I think the idea of permanence is important in sacred architecture, and I find it interesting when we architects try to design a modern space with modern elements to connect supernaturally with supernatural forces.
