It's ten years condensed into two minutes and thirty-nine seconds. The making of the 9/11 Memorial, a film by EarthCam was released last week and is a time-lapsed edit, a birdseye view taken from the Millenium Hilton diagonally across the site. From a grey mess of debris the emergence of form—the two iconic craters, the massive cranes moving at lightening speed, little green dots of trees appearing in time, the shadows of adjacent buildings swiftly crossing over the site and day turning into night—it's a surreal few minutes of destruction, construction and tranformation.
