It is specialized and diffuse: some programs are cutting-edge, others are struggling; some disciplines are reinventing themselves, others are mired in old ways of thinking. So while we won’t generalize about the problems facing design education, we must talk about issues that extend beyond the classroom: climate change, environmental illness, housing. These are design problems, which can only be solved by the resourcefulness of future generations.
