Digital technology in cars is getting more accessible by the day—Lincoln has made sophisticated amenities mainstream with its 2015 MKC model.

Through the MyLincoln Mobile app and the cellular-enabled modem embedded in the car, MKC owners can do many things remotely, from locating their vehicle through the GPS, to starting it from any location—meaning you can warm up your car from inside your home on a chilly day, or unlock your car and start it from across the country when your partner loses his or her keys.

“We’ve had a wireless connection for remote keyless entry for many years,” says Lincoln’s senior product development engineer, Joe Rork. “This is a natural extension.”

Added to this is the “park out assist” ultra-sonic sensor technology that makes it as easy to get out of a tight parking spot as the existing “active park assist” makes it to get in. “We are always thinking about how we can make things better,” says the supervisor for driver-assistance electronics, Jennifer Shaw. “How can we use technology in even smarter ways?”
