A Little Night Light

Known for seeing the “lighter “side of life, and for incorporating their whimsical humor into the products they make, Black+Blum partners Dan Black and Martin Blum created this funny little reading lamp that is just that, a read-ing light.

The “reader’s “legs are of polished zinc; the semi-translucent shade is polypropylene, and the translucent lamp holder is polycarbonate. He comes in blue, orange, and white. “We feel that giving people a chuckle is as important as using the right materials,” says Blum. The amusing bedside lamp is available in a limited number of U.S. stores and on the company Web site. Also look for Black+Blum’s new housewares line, which includes a metal trash basket for the kitchen, to be in shops this fall.
