Across Borders
The global smorgasbord of design will be as vibrant as ever at this year’s ICFF.
New York’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) remains the best place in North America to discover fresh talent, emerging trends, and exhibitors from around the globe. The biggest presence at the fair comes from the trade show groups that show as a bloc, including the British European Design Group (with 39 designers), Interiors from Spain (with 14 companies), and Ceramic Tiles of Italy (with nine manufacturers). The participation of high-end luxury bath and kitchens continues to grow—German manufacturers such as Dornbracht, Duravit, Axor, and Blanco are back. And more than 40 Brooklyn-based companies with a focus on craftsmanship and sustainability will, no doubt, be showing off their sophisticated mastery of wood. The array of over 100 first-time exhibitors promises something for everyone; Minnesota-based Eastvold Furniture, the Japanese veneer specialists At Labo, the Mexico City–based Artefact Studio, the young Finnish collective Season One, and the eco-friendly Dutch tile manufacturer Royal Mosa are all making their ICFF debuts. Here are just a few of the new designs you’ll see at the fair this month.
