Design is all around us, but not all of it is well conceived or intelligently executed. Thankfully some cities, organizations, and manufacturers are working to produce objects and infrastructure that will improve our public spaces. Whether it’s something as simple as a handcrafted reproduction lightbulb or as complex as a solar-powered bus shelter, the products shown here all improve our experience of the places that constitute our daily lives.
