Neri Oxman’s 3D-printed GLASS series is now on view in @cooperhewitt’s #DesignTriennial. Each piece in the series is built up from tubes of molten glass, layer by layer, yielding optically transparent structures. The tubular forms have the potential to contain and transmit media. This new technique has enormous potential for creating vessels and products as well as architectural components and building facades. The technique was unveiled by Oxman and her Mediated Matter group in September, 2015. #cooperhewitt #NYCxDESIGN

In 2015, Sara Ouhaddou of @madeinmedin presented in the #LaunchPad at @WantedDesign, an accessible platform for emerging designers who wish to participate in #NYCxDESIGN. Sara works with Moroccan craftspeople and aims to marry their traditional craft with modern society in order to enhance these crafts’ chances of survival.
