The Atlanta-based Interface has been making contract and industrial carpet tiles for more than 30 years. However, it was only at last year’s ICFF that the company introduced a consumer line of their modular floor coverings. It’s a great idea: the peel-and-stick tiles are extremely easy to install, while the complementary colors and textures can be mixed and matched. The 19.5-by-19.5-inch tiles are washable and recyclable and start at $6.00, although most are priced between $8.99 and $10.99. More than a dozen new lines were shown this year, including tiles made from hemp, sisal, and PLA (a fiber made from corn).
