RAW is an exhibition of prototypes, concepts, and products selected from Metropolis Magazine’s Next Generation Design competition, including this year’s grand prize winner, to be announced May 6 in Boston. The show, designed and produced by Marco Pasanella, the multi-talented designer who heads the Polenta Group, will debut this year at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), to be held May 15-18 in New York. Metropolis established the annual Next Generation competition in 2003 and awards $10,000 in seed money to an enterprising individual or office whose “Big Design Idea” benefits people and the planet, and challenges fellow design professionals to create human-centered products, environments, and communication systems.
