Taking inspiration from Tibetan tea-stained rugs, Fortune Contract’s Space Guy line of commercial carpet designs is meant to evoke a painting as much as a floor covering. “The process is an easy way for us to add color to existing patterns,” explains Will Fortune, National Sales Director for the Dalton, Ga.-based manufacturer. “It’s subtle and it gives a new look to Fortune.” The “space-dyed” process allows colored dyes to randomly land onto the fiber to evoke these new nuances to the company’s patterns. Available in 17 color choices, this cut/uncut carpeting is made from Ultron fiber that adds an antique finish to a commercial setting.
