Flying Vee designer Christopher Massie noticed a big design trend of applying pattern to objects. So he thought he’d have a little fun and make objects themselves into a pattern. “Initially the purpose was designing objects as a pattern or decoration,” the Calgary-based artist and graphic designer says of his and his bother Paul’s simple metal L-or-V-shaped shelves (depending on how you pattern them). The shelves are made of strips of laser-cut, powder-coated, and cold-rolled sheet steel and retails for $125 for a pack of five. The packs enable at-home designers to have many options for their three-dimensional patterns.
