Tomorrow is the opening of the 2015 New York Toy Fair at the Javits Center in New York City, and with it comes a plethora of designs that are going to play into childrens’ imaginations. But just because something is designed for kids, that doesn’t mean the adults can’t play pretend as well, as PLAYMOBIL’s new Modern Luxury Mansion illustrates.
Heavily inspired by Bauhaus architecture, the company’s designers turned to architectural publications to discover what the public was lusting after. To this end they created the “mansion,” where the kitchen has a double-door refrigerator, the living room contains midcentury modern-inspired furniture, and the window-lined walls take in whatever views you choose to imagine—be it mountains, the ocean, or a city skyline.
