Trend Alert: Going for the Gold
Gold is back, but the most on-trend furnishings and accessories exhibit a modest sort of opulence, writes our editor-in-chief.
After cycling through obsessions with brass, steel, bronze, and copper, interior designers have come around to gold. The secret to good aureate design is proportion: Do too much and you’re in Trump Tower; do too little and it’s precious. In between lies the sweet spot of millennial ostentation.
