Everything You Need to Personalize Your Kitchen and Bath
A preview of smart, feature-rich kitchen and bath products for the new year
Miele Incognito Ventilation Hood
With three inner panels that conceal the grease filters, this hood strikes the optimal balance between air extraction and style. Available for Wall and Island modules, the Incognito comes in a stainless-steel finish or can be customized with more than 200 colors.
There’s no shortage of opportunity for innovation in kitchens and bathrooms, with more personalizable, feature-rich products at the disposal of designers and consumers. Thermador’s Professional Series Steam and Convection Oven includes seven cooking options, with everything from a titanium griddle and grill to a large convection oven. Kohler’s Artifacts collection allows designers to coordinate faucets, showers, and finishes for a personalized style.
The industry has realized that for such products to reach their full potential, they must be integrated into the larger context—the architecture of homes or hospitality spaces. This year, KBIS 2014, the country’s largest kitchen and bath event, held February 4-6 in Las Vegas, will co-locate with the International Builders’ Show (IBS) under the umbrella of Design and Construction Week. As illustrated by this selection—which includes a nature inspired glass sink and space-saving kitchen drawers—designers and manufacturers continue to surprise us with novel products that can transform the spaces we live in.
