A Culture of Caring:
Designing hospitals in the global marketplace requires the ability to blend state-of-the-art solutions with sensitivity to local customs, rituals, and religions. The way that a design influences patient, doctor, and family can be essential to competing in the global design business. Sensitive design also impacts how people feel, and with examples from China, India, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates, this story can help architects and designers understand how they can influence the healing process in cultures with different practices, customs, and values.
— Understand how to think with cultural sensitivity in the global design marketplace
— Learn about hospital design in the East and Middle East
— Learn how layout, materials, amenities, and features can inhibit a patient’s ability to heal and feel comfortable
—Understand how architects can play a role in creating beautifully designed hospitals that treat the patient as a whole human being living in a specific place and culture.
We will review your responses and submit your grade and attendance to AIA.
Fees: $10.00 per test.
All CEU online exercises must be submitted with a payment form in order to ensure review and grade submission to AIA.
