Shouldn’t the Three Sixty lamp, designed by Foster and Partners, really be called the Six Hundred? Hitting stores in November, the halogen directional lamp has hinges in its shaft and arm that each rotate 300 degrees. So why the name? It couldn’t be modesty. This sleek brass baby is specified for the executive offices in the firm’s striking new Hearst Building, which opens next June on 57th Street near Columbus Circle. Produced and distributed by FontanaArte in aluminum, matte white, and dark gray, it will be illuminating the desks of the luminaries who bring you nothing less than O, The Oprah Magazine; Good Housekeeping; and Cosmopolitan. But the real question is, of course, whether the lamps are truly compatible with the desks. We’re working on a hot new quiz that will tell you instantly!
