At 6:30 p.m. the crowd was ushered into the “table room”–excellently repurposed for the screening—and warmly welcomed by Mark Hanner of Room & Board, who then introduced Metropolis editor in chief, Susan S. Szenasy.
Szenasy introduced Episode 3: The Green Machine which focuses on Chicago’s green initiatives and features Szenasy as an advocate of environmental design. Also appearing in this episode are Chicago Tribune journalist, Blair Kaman; Sadhu Johnston, the city’s Commissioner on the Environment; and Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley.
The screening was followed by a compelling Q&A session lead by Szenasy. The impassioned crowd responded with their concerns and questions about the issues in their city resulting in a lively volley on sustainability in Chicago and other cities.
In attendance were members of the Chicago architecture and design community, including members from PrairieMod (Prairiemod), Gensler, and IDEO.
