Evolved Design’s Raffia Chair

Inspired by the iconic Corbusier chair, Milo Naval designed this square-arm chair from natural-colored raffia palm. The palm is first handwoven into strips, then woven into a checkerboard pattern, and finally placed over a plywood frame. Created and manufactured in Manila, it is part of the Raffia Collection that includes a dining chair, bench/coffee table, club chair, and corner chaise. Distributed by Asiatix in Seattle, Washington, the chair is listed at $765. The cushions are covered in cotton and the raffia protected with ScotchGuard.
