Big Data Big Questions:
Around the globe, townships to internationally famous cities are becoming “smart-cities,” cities whose municipalities, infrastructures, and movements are monitored and data collected with the end-goal being improved efficiency. Alex Marshall dissects the micro-fiber systems and the governmental and private contributors involved with this permeating movement.
Learning Objectives:
-Understand the fundamental principles, ideas, and practices behind smart-cities
– Learn about how smart-city technology affects the daily lives of residents living in participating cities
– Learn about the companies that have the biggest involvements in smart-cities and their areas of expertise
-Understand the potential benefits and hazards of smart-cities
