9 Exciting (Non-Salone!) Things to See and Do While in Milan
Heading to Milan but want to escape the Salone del Mobile bubble? Metropolis has put together this diverse list of activities, exhibitions, and local destinations.
Each year in early April, the world of design focuses on Milan for its Salone del Mobile. Now in its 58th edition, the fair runs this year from April 9 to 14 and will include more than 2,300 exhibitors showcasing thousands of new furniture pieces. The design frenzy also percolates into the city center with Fuori Salone, a whirlwind of vernissages, special openings, art installations, and parties that spill into streets and courtyards. Here’s a short list of activities, exhibitions, and places that will help visitors—even the veteran attendees—escape the Salone bubble and see another side of Milan.
